Went to lunch on a weekday which was nice and quiet. Service was unexpectedly slow considering we were the only people there. Was surprised not to be offered a lunch menu - only a main menu which was quite expensive. Ordered starters whilst waiting for a friend to arrive who then mentioned the lunch menu. We asked to see the lunch menu and noticed that 2 courses were only £12.90 and 3 courses £15.90, instead of main courses which were on average £20 on the other menu. We asked as the starters we ordered were on the lunch menu so said can we then add a main and it be £12.80, but were told ‘no’ as we ordered the starters from the main menu! Ended up spending £30 per head (including a drink each) instead of what should have been more like £18-20. If you’re going on a weekday between 12-3.30 make sure you specifically ask for the lunch menu or you will not be given it and will pay a lot more! Disappointed in the lack of transparency / flexibility with this menu, will not return.
Nice Vibes. A nice restaurant with a good vibe. Great for couples and small groups. The service was good and the waiter was very helpful and nice. We ordered calamari, dynamite prawns, humus kavurma(?), Veyso's special. The humus kavurma and calamari was really nice. The dynamite prawns was ok but still had a lot of shells left on the prawn. The Veyso's special was disappointing and I would not order again. Overall the restaurant was a nice and recommend going at least once.
Decided to take a turn for turkish cuisine today. Best turkish cuisine I ever had so far. Ordered the chef specials for two’s and four’s, massive portions even though there were 6 adults (total). If you can’t finish your meal you can get a takeaway, so you can have that for lunch the next day. Overall, service was top notch and atmosphere is fantastic though some customers were hurrendously loud opposite us, but overall it was granduer experience. Tops to our waiter for taking down our drinks as soon as we arrived 🙌
Nice food, good portion size, nice decor and friendly service. I had the falafel which was made at the restaurant rather than bought in as is the case in many places and beautifully presented. Was given gorgeous baklava after the meal which was a lovely treat. Will go again.
Best Turkish in Essex! Been eating here for years and never had a bad meal. The bread is the best I’ve ever had; so deliciously seasoned and their homemade chilli sauce is incredible! Highly recommend ordering the hummus kuvurma. Mains are very large, would recommend sharing 1 between 2 people, or if you order your own and can’t finish it, ask for a takeaway box. My go-to main is the sarma chicken beyti; absolutely delicious! I forgot to take a picture because I was too excited to eat it, but I’ll be sure to get a picture next time I go and update this review.
