Shinde's (Green street branch) was recently renovated and I was surprised to see the very elegant interior and beautiful selfie wall. We ordered chilli paneer and dabeli. The sauce and paneer was so delicious 😋. The softness of the paneer with the tangy / spicy sauce was so good. The dabeli was one of the best I have had in a long time. The sweetness of the pomegranate seeds, the spicy peanuts, the buttery pav and masala potatoes were such an excellent combination. The staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend for groups of friends, families, couples or even if you are going solo.
If you’re craving authentic Indian flavours with a touch of elegance, this pure vegetarian Indian restaurant in London is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with stunning decor that blends traditional Indian elements with modern flair—warm lighting, intricate patterns, and a vibrant yet cosy ambiance that sets the mood perfectly. The menu is impressively diverse, catering to both classic favourites and creative innovations. Every dish we tried was packed with flavour, but the sizzling platter truly stole the show—served piping hot, aromatic, and beautifully presented. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the textures were spot on. Don’t leave without trying their homemade mango pistachio ice cream. Creamy, nutty, and bursting with real mango flavour—it’s the perfect finish to the meal. From food to atmosphere, everything here felt thoughtfully curated and genuinely delicious. A true haven for vegetarians and Indian cuisine lovers alike. Highly recommended!
I recently had a very enjoyable meal at your lovely restaurant near Upton Park station. The food was absolutely delicious and served in a timely manner, which I greatly appreciated. Please extend my congratulations to your talented kitchen staff! While I was impressed with the quality of the food and the overall ambiance of your establishment, I did notice a few areas that, with some attention, could further enhance the customer experience. During my visit, I observed that the waiting staff's uniforms appeared to be unclean. Maintaining clean and presentable uniforms is crucial for creating a positive impression. Additionally, I noted some minor cosmetic issues that could be addressed. On the left wall, the texture from previous paintwork is still quite visible and could benefit from another coat. Similarly, on the lower right side, there is a crack in the wall near the tree decoration. I have attached photographs that illustrate these points. The bathroom has a stylish design; however, ensuring it is consistently clean, thoroughly disinfected, and includes a freshener would be a valuable improvement. Lastly, the bar area, being directly visible to customers, would benefit from a fresh coat of paint and should be kept impeccably clean. Overall, your restaurant has a wonderful vibe and a nicely designed interior. Addressing these finishing touches would undoubtedly elevate the overall impression you make on your guests. The reason for my one-star rating for service on this occasion is solely due to the issue with the cleanliness of the waiting staff uniforms. I genuinely look forward to returning in the near future and hope to see these points addressed so that I can provide a more comprehensive review of your service. Thank you for considering my feedback. I believe your restaurant has great potential, and these suggestions are offered with the intention of helping you achieve even greater
I tried Shinde's Pure Veg on Green Street recently, and honestly, it was such a great experience from start to finish. The place is super clean and well designed, which made a really good first impression. It’s got that modern but still cozy feel, not too flashy, just simple and tasteful. You can tell they actually care about the atmosphere. It felt welcoming the moment I stepped in. The only downside I noticed was that the tables were a bit sticky. Not dirty exactly, just that slightly tacky surface that makes you wonder if they were cleaned with the wrong spray or not wiped down thoroughly. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it was noticeable and kind of stood out given how clean the rest of the place was. Now onto the food, which is really the star of the show. I ordered the pani poori, samosa chaat, and a mango lassi. Each one had its own thing going on, and I loved them all for different reasons. The pani poori was absolutely on point. The pooris were super crisp and fresh, none of that soggy or chewy stuff you sometimes get elsewhere. They had that perfect crunch when you bite into them. The filling was flavorful, a nice mix of spiced mashed potatoes and sprouts, and the pani itself was tangy and spicy in all the right ways. They didn’t go overboard on the spice either so you could really taste the mint and tamarind in the water. It came chilled, which just elevated the whole thing especially on a hot day. Honestly I could’ve had two plates of just that. Then came the samosa chaat, which was kind of the comfort dish of the trio. The samosa itself was nicely fried, golden and crisp without being too oily. When they broke it up and mixed it with the chole, chutneys, yogurt, and all the toppings, it turned into this crazy good mix of flavors and textures. There was the warmth of the chickpeas, the sweetness from the tamarind, a little kick from the green chutney, and the creaminess from the yogurt pulling it all together. Plus that bit of crunch from sev sprinkled on top. Every bite tasted a little different in the best way. It had this layered flavor profile that kept me going back for more even after I was full. And finally the mango lassi. This one surprised me the most because I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It was smooth, thick, not overly sweet, and had a real mango flavor to it not that artificial syrupy stuff. And it was cold and super refreshing which just hit the spot because it was such a warm day. I swear I could’ve sat there for another hour just sipping that and people watching. It was the perfect balance to the spices from the chaat and pani poori too so I’m really glad I got it. Overall I’d say Shinde's did a fantastic job. The service was good too, friendly but not hovering. Everything felt relaxed and well thought out, like they actually want you to enjoy your time there. Aside from the sticky tables, it was a really great visit. If you're looking for a clean spot with really flavorful vegetarian Indian street food, this place should definitely be on your list. I’ll be going back soon to try the rest of the menu.
Visited Shindey’s Pure Veg and tried the Rava Masala Dosa. It was crunchy and served with less oil as requested, which I appreciated. However, the portion was small, the sambar was minimal (as seen in the photo), and there wasn’t enough aloo stuffing—didn’t feel worth the price. I also had a small karak chai, but despite asking for less sugar, it was overly sweet. The server laughed at my request, which felt disrespectful. Needs improvement in both portion and service.
