We had the most wonderful Sunday lunch at Ombra. From the first snack through to dessert, every dish was authentic, beautifully prepared, and bursting with flavour — true Italian cooking at its best. The girolle mushroom tagliolini was delicate and full of depth, the monkfish main was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, and the apricot, mint and yoghurt dessert was a refreshing finish. Compliments to Chef Alessandro, whose skill and passion really shone through in every plate. For drinks, we trusted our waiter Red, who paired each dish with the perfect wine recommendation. Each glass lifted the food even further, and it made the whole meal feel carefully curated. We enjoyed it all out on the sunny terrace, where the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere made it a truly memorable family lunch. Ombra delivered on every level — excellent food, thoughtful service, and a beautiful setting. We’ll definitely be back!
I took my parents here for lunch , it was their first time and only my second time. Absolutely impeccable! We had the chef’s menu for 3 with wine pairing. Big shoutout to Phil (certified sommelier) for perfectly pairing every unique dish. **Oysters with blood orange and olive oil **Olive oil, lemon mussels with fennel **Grilled White asparagus with sardines **Gnocco fritto (house staple!) **Lamb’s heart on whipped feta (!!) **Fresh pasta (made daily on-site) with beef shin ragù **Basil & raspberry cake (mind-blowing flavourrrr) **Tiramisu (rightly praised as London’s best. My mum demolished it solo!) The team at Ombra just get it- full of heart, bold flavours, and warming energy. P.s.: the chefs menu changes with season as they source the freshest ingredients! worth going back!
(To the tune of oompa loompa) Ombra loompa I am now fat We got lots of plates now can you top that!! Ombra loompa doo pa de de We had a great time now listen to me!! So myself and my wife came in as she had seen this spot when she visited the last Tuesday society. And oh how pleased I am she saw it. Tonight we had the chefs menu and it was not only incredible value but an immersive culinary experience. The staff were very knowledgeable and very attentive but the food really was the winner of the evening. I never knew asparagus could taste soo good!! The tasting menu allowed us to try food we would never usually choose such as the lambs heart but honestly it’s worth every bite.
Great Sunday lunch plenty of delicious and unusual dishes, lovely combination of flavours and attentive service, a must try.
I rate very highly the experience of my daughter's wedding ceòabration at Ombra. A friendly, cosy restaurant, almost unassuming, but the food was superb, certainly much better than at most wedding parties. We had an octopus salad as a starter, followed by courgette flowers, then a pasta dish with an exquisite fish sauce. I am not a pasta eater, yet I loved their dish, whose sauce was based on minced fish that beautifully blended with the tomato sauce. The main course was mullet -sarago in Italian- a very tasty white fish, cooked in a chinotto sauce. Delicious. The staff, all young and friendly, were very flexible , prompt and helpful. I highly recommend Ombra, the intimate atmosphere is suitable for events and gatherings of up to 40 people. Thank you, Alessandro, I loved your cooking style.
