Took my family to Needoo’s in Whitechapel, London. The restaurant is a short walking distance from Whitechapel railway station and is accessible by bus. There are a number of bus stops scattered around. On entering you will notice the bright lights and the red colour scheme interior-reminiscent of the 1970s disco era. We were welcomed by one of the wonderful staff member and taken to our table. We ordered, king prawn biriyani, king prawn karahi, chicken biriyani, kebab roll, Dahl mash, chana dahl and chicken karahi, half chicken and chips, naan, fried fish and mango lassi. We were given popadoms without ordering them and were charged for them. Beware they are not complimentary dishes. The food was good but a little on the spicy side. Both biriyani’s were okay but they weren’t proper biriyani - they were pilau rice mixed in a lot of sauce. The king prawn curry was excellent and so was the kebab roll and dahl mash. The fried fish were 4 tiny portions of fish in a large pile of fried onions. A bit disappointed by this. Overall, it was a lovely experience. The food is on the pricier side so bear that in mind. Our server Usama made our day even better by being a great host and patient whilst taking our orders. We were served with complimentary Zarda (sweet rice) at the end. My mum, nephew and I enjoyed the food the most and will be visiting them again. Thank you Needoo and Usama for a wonderful experience.
We had an amazing experience at Needo’s and the food did not disappoint. For starters, we ordered kebabs and samosas – both were fresh, full of flavour, and set the tone for the meal perfectly. The crispy samosas paired with the tender, spiced kebabs were a great beginning. For mains, we went with the Dry Lamb Bhuna and Daal. The lamb was beautifully cooked, rich with spices, and packed with flavour, while the daal was comforting and hearty – exactly what you’d want alongside a meat dish. The real star of the evening, however, was the Lamb Chops. Perfectly marinated, juicy, and grilled to perfection, they were without a doubt the highlight of the entire meal – smoky, tender, and bursting with flavour. Easily the best item we tried, and highly recommended to anyone visiting. The service was warm and welcoming, and the sizzling platters added to the lively dining experience. Overall, Needo’s delivered on both taste and atmosphere – a must-visit for anyone craving authentic, flavourful South Asian food.
Ali bhai (owner) please look at this review. Service is poor food quality has gone down Curry doesn’t taste like authentic Pakistani cuisine anymore. We ordered mix grill the lamb chop chewy and robbery. Not Fresh felt like preheated and topped with sauce when I tried telling the waiters they were giving us dirty look and they run away, instead of giving us dirty look, they should’ve rectified the problem or maybe give a feedback to other members. When we complained, they gave us two replacement lamb chops which was fresh and nice and tasted good, so therefore it can be done but they’re choosing not to do. Try to understand I don’t mind paying extra if the food quality. Mix grilled with small shish kebab and no meat piece anymore. You’re charging £22 and the quality isn’t there. Please provide good service and good quality food. I’ve been going into Needo since opening I could tell the quality has for sure gone down and the service bad. I’m a Bangladeshi and I am sorry to say this “workers you have which are mainly Bangladeshi they have no customer skills” For two of us paid £50 didn’t enjoy food at all. Sorry I am leave review like this it just so improvement can be made. Visited 13/10/25 @ 10pm
Not great. The restaurant was quite dirty as was my glass! The music was extremely loud. The lamb chops were nice but the tikka lacked flavour. Service was unfriendly. Tayyabs round the corner was much better who also give you salad and dips by default.
Visited with my guests from Manchester (Bolton) here based on a recommendation. I assumed we get 20 percent discount however due to some misunderstanding that couldn't be applied. I massive Good Will gesture was given where tea and desserts were on the house. The food overall was very nice. Definitely would come again. Thank you to Ali bhai who was quick to help us get settled in with 2 buggies. Food came lovely and hot within 15 mins. All starters and mains where served quick. I can't fault the staff or food. Family place to sit and dine. My only concern was the downstairs toilets, they could do with a clean. Upstair toilets were fine. Nappy changing facilities available upstairs toilets too. Pretty cool I say
