I recently visited My Shish Woodford and had an amazing experience! The food was incredible — especially the Smash Tacos, Wagyu Burger, and Mix Grill Sizzler. The mocktails were refreshing, and the shisha was smooth and relaxing. The atmosphere was elegant yet cosy, with great service throughout. Definitely one of the best Mediterranean lounges in the area — can’t wait to visit again!
I genuinely don’t even know where to start — this place was an absolute disaster from beginning to end. The customer service was beyond shocking, easily the worst I’ve ever experienced. It honestly felt like we were part of some hidden camera prank. We came here to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday, and it turned into a complete nightmare. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, yet we waited over 45 minutes — not even for food, just for drinks! When they finally came, my piña colada arrived with no ice whatsoever — I didn’t even know that was possible. The food was just as bad — bland and tasteless. The so-called “mac and cheese” tasted like someone threw pasta in a bowl and sprinkled cheese on top. No seasoning, no flavour, nothing. Orders were mixed up or forgotten altogether, and every time we tried to get the staff’s attention, they looked lost or ignored us completely. By the time we tried to pay, we’d had enough. The confusion continued — they tried to charge us for the food we had cancelled, so we asked for another correct bill, which took so long. We ended up getting up and going to the front just to pay because we knew we’d be sitting there all night otherwise. The entire experience was a shambles and completely ruined what was meant to be a special night for my dad’s 60th. To top it off, they don’t even serve complimentary bread or sauce like every other Turkish restaurant I’ve been to. Honestly, this place needs serious management changes — the food, the service, the organisation — all of it was terrible. Never again.
It was really quiet but we did come on a Tuesday evening and it was a tube strike day. We ordered a few starters and the tomahawk steak, some extra fries and a pasta dish for my son. The prawns and calamari were great and served pretty quickly, the calamari serving was considerably smaller than I'd expect with only 3 on the plate. The tomahawk was cooked to perfection, good flavor and just how we requested, medium rare, my son also loved his pasta. The fries were also super crispy 👌 The service was fantastic, super attentive and amazing value for money. We had the restaurant to ourselves on this occasion but I can imagine on the weekend it having great vibes, the music was afrobeats but not overbearing loud. This is a hidden gem in North Ldn and we'll be sure to be back
I recently dined at MyShish in London and had a fantastic experience. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was nicely laid out with elegant decor and top tier ambient lighting that made the space feel modern yet intimate. Free parking was a big bonus, especially in London, and the fact that all food is halal gave us peace of mind. For starters, I had the hummus with warm bread. The hummus was smooth and tasty, but the soft and fresh bread really stood out. I also tried the pulled beef bao bun. The bun was soft and slightly sweet, and the beef was slow cooked to perfection. It was tender, juicy, and had a subtle kick of spice. A very satisfying start to the meal. For mains, I went with the prime rib eye steak cooked medium rare, served with peppercorn sauce and chips. The steak was beautiful, juicy, tender, and perfectly pink inside. The peppercorn sauce was creamy with just the right amount of heat. The chips were crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and well seasoned. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese which was creamy, cheesy, and cooked just right. Every part of the meal was excellent. To drink, I had the Unicorns Ride mocktail. The lychee flavour really came through and hit the spot. It was delicious, though at nine pounds it felt slightly expensive for the size. I just wish the glass had been a bit bigger. Service was a real highlight. I want to mention the waitress who served us. She was a tall South Asian lady with her hair tied back and what I believe was a tattoo on her wrist. She was respectful, professional, and calm even while dealing with a very difficult family of four seated next to us. The parents were shockingly rude, asking awkward questions about how food was cooked, finishing most of their meal, and then complaining to try and get a discount. It was uncomfortable to watch, and I wanted to say something, but my family convinced me not to. Despite their behaviour, the waitress handled them with grace and professionalism. People in hospitality should never be treated like that. I hope she knows she did a fantastic job and made our evening much better. Another great touch is the shisha bar located at the back of the restaurant. It is a relaxing space designed with the same attention to atmosphere and detail as the main dining area. A perfect way to wind down after a great meal. As someone who works in the NHS, I also made use of the ten percent discount, which I already knew about before visiting. It was a thoughtful gesture and very much appreciated. All in all, MyShish delivered a high quality experience from start to finish. Friendly staff, a beautifully designed setting, flavourful halal food, and truly impressive service. With the added perks of free parking, a lovely shisha lounge, and NHS discount, it is a complete evening experience. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to others looking for a memorable meal out.
I think the restaurant in Woodford is under new management, I went there and service was terrible and so was the quality of the food. Usually when you go to a restaurant you get served your drinks first we had to wait about 20mins for that and that only because I asked the staff can we have our drinks at least. When serving another table behind us, the two waitresses dropped and broke the sauce pots which shattered all around us. Upon getting our food our “mac and cheese” was not even Mac and cheese it was just pasta with cheese sprinkled on. The waitress and waiters were all lost, they was running all over the place and when trying to call them, they ignored you. They sung happy birthday to someone but that required the entire kitchen staff to come out and stop operation of the restaurant. When we wanted to pay our bill, apparently only the manager can take payment. Which when I asked he went with the card machine to another table to take their payment. Due to this we got up and went to the front to pay as if not they would’ve delayed me further. When walking up to the desk the waitress said wait at the table you can pay there where I said it’ll take too long. She went and got thr manager and he took payment but when I said I don’t wanna pay the service charge he got a bit mad and asked sarcasticly “would you like your recipt sir” In my opinion this restaurant is under new management who are should not be in the “Mediterranean cuisine” sector and should think about changing their strategies.
