There’s something deeply nostalgic about afternoons spent sipping tea especially when they come wrapped in a setting like Enigma, Ilford. Last Saturday, I found myself stepping into a space that felt more like a scene from a dreamy art film than a restaurant. The entrance, dimly lit yet warmly welcoming, gave way to a modern-meets-classic ambiance- neon hues, velvet chairs, and floral flourishes all dancing together in effortless harmony. I had booked the afternoon tea experience, hoping for something relaxing. What I didn’t expect was how beautifully curated the entire affair would be. From the moment the tiered stand arrived, adorned with delicate savouries, perfectly soft scones, and sweet treats that looked too pretty to eat ,I was transported. Each bite felt intentional, crafted with care. The mini sandwiches were light yet flavourful, the scones warm and crumbly, paired perfectly with jam and cream, and the pastries? Little moments of edible art. But what really won me over was the service ,attentive but never intrusive. Our server was soft-spoken and kind, checking in just enough to feel looked after but never rushed. We were left to chat, giggle, and soak in the beautiful background music and the ever-so-gorgeous floral wall that makes you want to pause and take it all in. In a world that moves too fast, this felt like a small pocket of calm , a gentle reminder to slow down, sip your tea, and truly enjoy.

Absolutely outstanding! Enigma Pan Asian is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The food is delicious, spicy in the best way, and cooked to perfection ,every dish was just right. The decor is spectacular ,stylish, warm, and so well thought-out. The staff are not only helpful but genuinely hardworking, and you can tell management is attentive, making sure every customer is happy. To top it off, we were surprised with complimentary drinks and desserts, which was such a thoughtful touch and really showed how much they value their guests. This place is more than just a restaurant it’s an experience, a must try!

My visit to Enigma was a lovely experience. Upon arriving at this restaurant I was greeted and ushered to my seat by friendly staff. The service was consistent, with helpful staff. The food was flavourful and tasted fresh. My only criticism would be the time it took for my mains to arrive after my starters. Otherwise everything including the atmosphere was lovely.

Great service during lunchtime. Food was amazing and worth it. The drinks were delicious and served in these really big glasses that they were worth it, usually drinks are extortionately priced and really small. Definitely recommend the lunch menu.
