We started with the poppadoms, which came with three delicious sauces and freshly sliced onions – 10/10, full of flavour and the perfect way to begin the meal. For our mains, we ordered the Tawa for 3, which was excellent. The lamb chops were tender, the meats were packed with flavour, and the portion was generous. The passion fruit mojito was refreshing and paired perfectly with the food. Service was fantastic. We were greeted by the owner, Zakariya, who was very friendly and attentive, making sure we were well looked after. The whole venue was spotless, including the toilets, and the décor gave the restaurant a modern and welcoming feel. Overall, it was a brilliant experience. This time I went with friends, but I’ll definitely be returning with my family. The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch, and it’s great that they accept both card and cash payments. Highly recommended!
We went there as a large group, and the food was excellent. We pre-ordered everything, and the mixed starters were flavorful with generous portions. They also offer a £23 set meal, which we chose—it included lamb korai, chicken jalfrezi, dhal, two types of rice, dessert, and drinks. It was definitely worth it for a big group. The staff were very friendly, and the place was spotless throughout. The toilets were clean and up to a good standard, and the décor was modern and stylish. I’d highly recommend this place—it’s worth a visit. The only drawback was parking, but we managed by using the side roads.
AVOID MOUSE SEEN!!! I understand this is a long review but please read! We were on the hunt for a restaurant serving tawa and we came across desi lounge, upon coming across good reviews and good videos we decided to visit for a special occasion. We drove past and saw it was empty and despite that being helpful for me due to my anxiety it should’ve been the first red flag. Upon entering we were seated by a kind hijabi waitress who by the way made the experience less of a shitshow than it was. We were admiring the decor and had finished placing our order when my partner had noticed a mouse run in, now not only is this a concern of hygiene but was a concern of it running around us! when the kind waitress was informed she immediately let higher ups know. We weren’t expecting much we thought they would at least try to get that one mouse out instead the owner or manager came and started trying to talk his way out of it?? He said if we went to any of the other restaurants we would see the same even nandos have them and despite having pest control come often they can’t do anything about it? Not even an apology that we had to witness that even if an apology wasn’t offered he could’ve spoken in a better manner than to think we were born yesterday that should have been the second red flag. Despite wanting to leave by this point we decided to switch tables and just try the food 1.Because of the good reviews and 2. Because i really didn’t want to deal with that guy again and explaining why we were leaving i wish we left! The samosa was burnt, the sheekh kebabs were frozen ones i have previously made at home, the chicken tikka starters were burnt and everything had oil dripping off it like they didn’t even cook anything fresh it was all deep fried, frozen and pre cooked. The chips were alright in the beginning i then noticed i was eating oil i had to spit it out, they were drenched in oil and nearly made me throw up when i left the restaurant, the actual plate that the tawa was served on had the burnt bits off the meats and they still decided to serve it?? The rice was nice unfortunately couldn’t enjoy as it was also burnt at the bottom and the lamb chops had flavour but unfortunately i had to break my jaw to rip it off and chew it. The only decent food i managed to have was the lamb from the curry, some of the dhall as some lentils were hard, the naan and some of the chicken tikka also from the curry. The owner asked the kind waitress we had to apply 10% off the bill now as kind as that was i will never EVER be returning in’sha’allah things get better for this business as it definitely has potential but my experience not only ruined a special occasion for me but also left me physically sick and upset. As for these good reviews i genuinely don’t know if it was just my experience or these people leave fake reviews but i will be more cautious next time. As you can see from photos all looks great but when you move it out of the way it is burnt and drenched in oil!
Very good food we tried their Lamb Bhuna and starter chicken Tikka both are really good. Service also good. We will definitely come back. This restaurant is very close to our hotel.
