It was my first time visiting Dan Dan, and I was so impressed! The prices are super reasonable, especially for London, and the food tastes authentically Sichuan/Shang Chuan — bold flavors, perfectly balanced spice, and truly comforting for someone from Asia. Yesterday was the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the restaurant gave out complimentary mooncakes with salted egg yolk filling — not just one yolk, but two! The mooncake was delicious and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. Warm atmosphere, friendly staff — I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this place!

Had a lovely lunch with my friend here. The staff are fantastic! They’re so friendly and warm. I felt so comfortable to ask questions about the menu and make small changes to my meal. The food was delicious, I enjoyed every bite. It was flavourful and aromatic. The atmosphere was comforting and I will be back again. Thank you!

Great spot to hang out with friends! Authentic Chinese food. We ordered grilled fish, signature dandan noodle, beef with preserved egg. One thing to highlight is their lunch menu (12-4PM) very affordable, lots of choices, only cost u 8.6 pounds. Can’t believe this offer is available in London

Excellent as usual. Ordered the pork rib noodles and the soup had loads of depth, a good level of spice and a decent amount of meat. The tea is also great value - £2 for a big pot with a choice of 4 varieties. Service is always quick and attentive too.

After we came back from holiday we decided to do a gym day and then go to dinner. With some leftover cash burning my pocket I was desperately trying to find a place that accepted cash, which is a lot harder in the city than anyone or least I thought. After calling no less than 12 places who all said no, I finally found one nearby so we decided to check it out. It's a cute modern Szechuan Chinese restaurant in aldgate. To my surprise it was very busy for a random Wednesday mid afternoon. We got a tabel asked for some recommendations and ordered. Food came out quickly, everything was tasty and made fresh. Our waiter and their whole team was friendly and welcoming and helpful with suggestions. We got to learn that there is some sort of a discount before 6pm on a weekday which gave us a bit of an explanation for the constant people coming in and numerous takeaways. It's a nice, clean, friendly restaurant with a lot of options. They also have a dedicated halal menu, so they cater for their neighbourhood. We had a great time, the food was tasty (highly recommend the peanut chicken dish and the pumpkin dessert!) and the tea was nice. It is our new to-go Asian place in Aldgate now. We will definately be back soon.
