Kokin Restaurant

Dinner at 📍Kokin, Straford on the 7th floor of The Stratford hotel.

Wood fire inspired Japanese dishes with a focus on sustainable blue fin tuna. The smoke could be tasted in every course and bringing an extra dimension of savouriness where you wouldn’t expect them.

Most dishes were beautifully presented and well executed. We loved the starter platter which had a good variety of dishes. The sushi and sashimi tasted very fresh with the option to try wood fired smoked sushi rice. We paired this with bolder flavours so as not to overpower the more delicate.

The chicken dish was surprisingly the favourite with a deliciously rich egg yolk sauce. The tuna collar was the reason for my visit and did not disappoint. For me, the sauces were too strong and over seasoned the cod and tuna dishes.

The dining room was spacious and airy and service was great. We did have to wait a while for the sushi as it was made to order but the staff were very apologetic.

Overall a great experience and I hope to try their tuna carving events soon.

Absolutely stunning food. All dishes so delicious. We have travelled around Japan, and this is the best Japanese food we’ve eaten in London. Better than Nobu. The staff were lovely - friendly and attentive. The price is high (for Stratford) but honestly the food is completely worth it. (Much better than Allegra, the previous restaurant here)

Favourites - the miso back cod and tuna collar mains were outstanding. All the sashimi and sushi were super fresh and beautifully presented. Smoked sushi rice was inspired. The egg custard and eel starter was incredible. And you can’t beat a glass of Nyetimber sparkling.

Thank you for a lovely evening. We’ll definitely be back.

Kokin was such a great experience. The food was super fresh, and the flavors blended together nicely without feeling heavy. The presentation was gorgeous, and the atmosphere felt classy but still quiet and comfortable, which made it easy to just relax and enjoy. The service really stood out too—friendly, attentive, and professional. I would definitely recommend the wagyu beef—it melted in my mouth! Honestly, everything from start to finish felt top notch, and I can’t wait to go back again.

We went there for lunch on Saturday, the Saturday lunch deal is quiet nice.
We had order the assorted starter, nigiri sets and extra sashimi chutoro and salmon.

Nigiri sets is nice, they pairing fish with different sauce like wasabi, ginger and yuzu.

Assorted starter has own character.
Home make tofu and the Saba sushi is my fav. Little bit more fav rather than soya sauce will be nice , at the end I find it is abit salty.

Sashimi has kept the good standard with reasonable price. although I have higher expectation on medium fatty tune which they are famous in. Salmon is better than most local sushi restaurant.

The atmosphere is pretty with nice view, there is a small outdoor garden that allow customer to visit.

It will be a nice place to hang out with friend in good weather.

Sashimi and oyster was a bit warm when served, I prefer raw seafood serve in cold.

The sushi here is actually very nice, very fresh and great taste, but portions is small so I guess is still worth the price. Customer service is actually good, very friendly and you can see they are trying their best, However I really think more training is needed as they keep bringing dishes to the wrong table and the food does take time to come out and I do hope this can be improved. Overall is a beautiful place, the chef has passion with his food and the team is nice.

Stopped by HER for lunch and absolutely loved it. The place has such a beautiful, warm interior - stylish without feeling overdone, and really inviting. The food was fresh, flavourful, and well-balanced, and everything came out at just the right pace. You can tell they put thought into both the menu and the presentation.

The food was okay but had higher expectations.
I enjoyed the king prawn spaghetti but would have preferred having the shells off. Really enjoyed the bread basket, they were warm and flavourful especially with the dips.
I did not enjoy the lamb shoulder, I didn’t like the combination of tomatoy chickpeas, I don’t think it went well together (for my taste).
The mocktail Hestia was probably the worst i’ve ever had, there was no flavour and it was tiny considering it costs £10!
Overall it was a nice experience but I will not be rushing back here.

This is my second time here, I came with my partner and we were served by a lovely waiter named Mohammed. Prefect service, very polite and even gave us some recommendations in term of drinks and dessert. Great food, can’t wait to be back

The restaurant is lovely decorated. Most of the food was delicious except for the Greek Salad which was horrible. The veggies tasted like they were chopped hours before. I can't believe they do that on such a fancy restaurant. All the items were over priced. Some of the staff seemed bored. I don't think I will come back.

Entrance - I did find it quite hard to find the entrance as it’s quite hidden, but nothing google maps can’t fix. Once I found it, it was clear as day where the restaurant was as it was such a huge building.

Food - The food was very nice. I ordered the chicken skewers and a side of potato’s, both very nice. I don’t usually finish my meals but I finished everything on my plate which is always a good sign.

Drinks - I ordered a bottle of white wine with a mini bottle of lemonade, both very nice.

Decor - Very modern and aesthetically pleasing. I really liked the decor, it was beautiful, especially in the bathroom.

Atmosphere - Very nice, chilled, not busy at all for a Friday night which is what I prefer. It was relaxing.

Cleanliness - VERY clean, not a spec of dirt. Not even in the toilets. It looked and smelt clean. No issues with cleanliness.

Total cost - £78 for myself for both food and drinks.

Customer service - The customer service was amazing, from the moment I walked in and were greeted by a very beautiful lady with (I think) a French accent. She let us choose whichever table we wanted and was very warm with her mannerisms.

The waiters and waitresses were also very very nice. Very polite and extremely attentive. They had great recommendations with the food and whenever my wine glass was empty they topped it straight back up. I haven’t experienced customer service in a restaurant that good in years.

Overall - 10/10- The food was great, the staff were even better & the atmosphere was to die for.

I would definitely return.

Very nice ambiance. Service was good.

I have a Gluten intolerant, Janett have been very careful in checking on the items i wish to order and made suitable recommendations that works out to be a very yummy menu.

My husband ordered a pizza and requested for a Gluten free base so that I can have some too. The taste came out wonderfully.

Coffee is definitely Italian with a very dark roast finished.

Would recommend this place especially with their lunch deal menu. Portion is just nice.

This was my first time visiting, and everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. The flavors are so good. Simone was really thoughtful throughout the meal, he shared his personal favourites, explained the dishes in detail, and even asked for feedback to make sure we enjoyed everything. Will definitely come back!

Thank you to everyone at Figo - ​I had a fantastic lunch there yesterday and can't recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I asked if they could modify one of their dishes because I'm not a fan of mushrooms, and they were more than happy to help.

​The service was top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious - it's clear that the kitchen takes great pride in what they do! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to try more of their great-looking menu!

Good food, but mixed feelings about staff. Waiters confused, managed to mess up a simple order. One of the chefs constantly staring (we sat by the kitchen counter), slightly uncomfortable experience.

In another world I might have worked in the building above this restaurant. Weird how things go.

Anyhow, staying in Stratford for a couple of nights (as one does) and looking for a place to eat, what better than an Italian I thought – the aesthetic of the place is good, there is soft lighting, meat hangs invitingly  in a cupboard and there is a large false tree, squarely planted in the centre of the restaurant, a challenge to convention.

Seated without a reservation on a Monday night, the vibe was relatively relaxed – tables are quite close together though, so it might be quite noisy when it is full. I understand that this is part of a small chain, with a couple of other restaurants in the area – I felt it reminded me of a place I visited in Portugal, although I’m not sure if that was because they both had a tree inside, or because Figo was a famous Portuguese footballer and that was confusing me…

Service was efficient and menus and drinks were provided soon after seating – just a Diet Coke for me as I continue to respect my liver ahead of the festive period. Otherwise, there was Peroni, the beer to have a in a place like this.

For a starter, I chose the arancini – these were unctuous and rich – possibly too rich, with their cheesy centres and sitting in a bed of thick creamy sauce. So very good. If I hadn’t had these, there was calamari and garlic bread with mozzarella – although I’d only have the latter if I wasn’t having a pizza for my main as it is basically another pizza… 😃

For a main, a pizza – I shouldn’t really order pizzas as I can never finish them, but I do like them so very much. This one was salsicca, with sausage and mushroom – I added an egg to it, as that was an option and you should always take up the option to add an egg to your pizza when it is offered. Rare these days. The pizza was glorious, with a thin base and generous helping of thick sausage (who doesn’t love a generous portion of meat?)  – the egg, which was served with a perfectly runny yolk, sat atop the centre f the pizza like a preening beast surveying it’s territory, ready to spread forth its joy upon the land. As you can no doubt tell, I liked this pizza – if you’re eating here, I would definitely recommend the pizza and I wholeheartedly endorse the addition of an egg.

Dessert was offered, but as I hadn’t finished my pizza, I demurred – there was tiramisu though, which is ‘the’ pudding. Hard to say no to tiramisu.

Overall a good experience and I would come here again. Price was not bad, given the location and quality of the restaurant and the food. Two paws up.

Bread Street Kitchen, Bar & Rooftop - Stratford

The quality of the food was more than I had expected as I was comparing to Gordon Ramsey in the Savoy. The quantity of food was certainly more than the Savoy. A good sized starter and main. We ordered sides of Fries mashed potato and salad which filled us up. A nice hot Brownie with ice cream finished the meal.
The service and staff were excellent. A very nice lunch which wasn't expensive. I can recommend and would use again.

Great service, friendly staff , nice atmosphere and good classic British food. Slightly pricey but it’s a well kept and fancy looking restaurant with an upmarket feel . Bonus that kids eat free. The kids Mac and cheese was very tasty . We also had the chicken & leek pie and the set menu chicken wings, Steak and fudge cake . All very good !

Restaurant looks amazing, the staff offer incredible customer service, and the food is a level of quality I'm sure Gordon would be proud of. The big portion of pork ribs is huge, and ver meaty, but the unexpected dishes that won everybody over were the meatball starters, and the Mac and cheese side dish.

Special thanks to the staff that served us. Cristina and Teo (? I might have his name wrong there, but I'm referring to the Albanian fellow.) were excellent, as was the manager there, and the lady at reception. If the restaurant offers any bonuses or commendations, I think they should be the ones to receive them. And as a disclaimer, they did NOT ask me to write a review or to mention them. I just thought they did an excellent job.

So, if you wanna dine fancy but not break the bank too much, this place has you covered.

Great atmosphere, staff are super polite and incredibly professional, unfortunately the food was a bit of a letdown, I ordered the fish and chips. It was very nice, very good portion, I would give it 9 out of 10. I have only deducted one point because the chips clearly weren’t made in the kitchen, they were just from a packet.
However, my daughter ordered the burger, to say it was dry was a understatement, it was really tasteless and not delicious at all. I would give it 5 out of 10 at best, this burger was not even as good as GBK. A big disappointment, Gordon you can do much better!!

2nd attempt was finally worthy!
Our first try was back in summer, but we were rudely rejected at the door.
This time, however, we were warmly welcomed and seated promptly.
A very good spot to check out in the Stratford area!

Aroma Authentic Dum Biriyani

Absolutely loved the experience at Aroma Authentic Dum Biryani. The alfaham was truly authentic and full of rich, delicious flavors. Lime refreshers was taste good. The customer service was excellent, and the staff were very polite and well behaved, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Although the seating area is a bit congested, everything else was spot on from the food quality to the overall service. Highly recommended for biryani lovers

The food is really tasty and the staff if very friendly. Kappa biriyani and tea was what I had and I have had it couple of times here. It has always been yummy.

Portion size really surprised me. Jordi's service was nice. And the chef Liton thank you the food was delicious.

Service is too quick and good. The food is so fresh and authentic. The taste is too good. Biryani tastes like Hyderabad biryani.  Dosas are like proper Indian dosas. Best place to eat south Indian food in Stratford.

STAX Burgers - Westfield Stratford

Whilst heading to London Stadium for an event we were seeking somewhere to get food quickly. The menu seemed great so we ordered and were told that it would take about 10 mins to make and that they would call out when our order was ready. I said that we would be at the tables 10-15 yards in front of the van, out of the rain- he said that would be fine. Both our burgers were well made and tasty, and the fries were delicious. The price was competitive for the area. The only let down was the service regarding collecting our order. I stood within view about 15 yards from the van and watched as other customers who had ordered after us were signalled over to collect theirs. After about 25 mins I came up to ask if ours was ready to which the server in a disgruntled manner said he had already called out to us. Even though I was wearing a distinctive hat he had not beckoned to me (as he had to other customers) and if he called out the burger menu names it was not audible at 15 yards away. What would make this a 5 star review next time would be an improvement notifying customers the order is ready- either saying please stay close to the van due to not being able to remember customers/say orders loudly or changing to a system that has order numbers that can be clearly said or displayed once they are ready to collect.

I tried the beef loaded brim box, in all honesty it was that bad. However it was not worth £8.95, especially since it came in a small bowl. The fries were nice but didn’t have any salt on them, but it was alright because they gave me a generous amount of cheese which didn’t make me miss the salt. The mince also didn’t have any salt on it, or seasoning to be honest, but that wasn’t my problem with the mince.

My problem was the fact that it was burnt and hard, and not just some but majority of the beef was burnt and hard. The bbq sauce was amazing I really loved it. I had the yellow square cheese and extra cheddar cheese on top, the amount of cheese was good and made the meal that much better. It doesn’t leave you full and I don’t think I’ll order from here again due to it being overprice. The staff, were nice but one of them (the man) also had a bit of attitude.

The bowl the food was served in was nice and I really appreciate that they still do plastic cutlery, as I have been suffering out here with all the rubbish wooden cutlery. Overall it wasn’t bad, but definitely not worth it.

The brim box is delicious! But £8.95 for small bowl is annoying. Used to be £7.95 and even then it was too expensive for the amount of food. Service is top, very good customer service and they were quick to serve

Great staff, great food. The stax box was absolutely amazing. Must have if you’re ever in Westfield Stratford.

BRIM is expanding big style and with a strong quality focussed vibe through its marketing materials and a decent local following i had to check it out.

We will start with the fries: Despite being a sweet potato fries fan, which are on offer I decided to opt for regular cheese fries. Because I love cheese and I know most people will go for regular type potato fries. At this price point I was a bit disappointed. The fries themselves were pretty basic and cheap feeling. Certainly okay, but not noteworthy. No where near as good as Five Guys on a good day. The cheese sauce was also cheap and way worse than a Shake Shack cheese fries sauce. 10p of materials for £1 price uplift and whilst pleasant enough, did not feel like good value.

Let’s talk about the burger. They have a fun concept that any burger type can be ordered with either single patty at 4oz, 2 patties at 8oz or 3 at 12oz. They even have a crazy 5 patty burger for an unnecessary 20oz = 566g of beef. I had the Brim burger in the 12oz version which gives you 3 patties and I believe 3 cheese slices, but it was pretty melty and seemed like less cheese overall than a regular Five Guys 2 patty burger. The pickles were reasonable. But the sauce was a little bit jammy and sweet for my taste. The beef quality was good and the fat and salt content hit the burger spot very well.

I will add that if you hang around the van whilst they are cooking your burger, you get to swirl quite literally in the delightful aromas of the beautiful beef you are about to consume.

Also although the beef is apparently not frozen, it is cooked to well done. Nothing rare here today…

But for me, the overall balance of the burger, although the beef is very good, and the sub-standard fries in this market will not be able to persuade me away from the ever trustworthy and reliable Five Guys, particularly when you factor the peanuts into the equation at their non-mall venues.

The guys serving were great, although it did take a while for the food to be ready.

Shoryu Westfield Stratford City

Very yummy (& filling) dinner at Shoryu this Sunday evening, my friend always comes here and recommended this spot. Lovely staff, a little bit of a wait for the food but is fresh & good quality. 🍙

I got the “White Natural” which was tasty but think the Tofu could have had more flavour, I would opt for the spicer option next time. I am looking forward to trying more items from the menu. 🍚🍥 The Melon Soda is YUM.

We visited this restaurant in Stratford Westfield's food court and had an excellent experience. The spicy vegan ramen was absolutely delicious with rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. We also tried the tempura and rice dish, and the vegetable tempura was outstanding - crispy and light with fresh vegetables.

What impressed us most was how clearly the vegetarian options were marked on the menu, making it easy to navigate for plant-based diners. The portions were generous and satisfying - exactly the kind of filling comfort food you want. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit, adding to the positive experience.

This spot is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for quality Japanese cuisine with great vegetarian options.

I visited a few days ago and was served by Rushaa, she recommended the Chicken Katsu Curry (halal!) and the Chicken Karaage (also halal!), I also ordered the spicy cucumber salad. I ordered the curry and karaage as part of the set for £16.

This was my first time trying chicken katsu curry and it was lovely! The pickled ginger wasn't too strong compared to other places I've been, which is good for me, and had a nice sour flavour that went well with the curry sauce. I found it to be a big portion and was very full after, I had to take away the chicken karaage for later (which Rushaa kindly provided a box for).

The chicken karaage was crispy and light, and came with a lemon slice and japanese mayo with shichimi (Japanese powder spice), all of this combined tasted great! The chicken pieces themselves were big, and I was also given a free sample to try. The spicy cucumber salad (which had shichimi) complimented the karaage nicely and added freshness to the meal.

I was also given a loyalty card which, upon completing, you get free ramen!

I definitely recommend Shoryu especially if you've never tried japanese food before, Rushaa was friendly and kindly answered my questions, and the other staff were also friendly and helpful.

Slightly well eaten version of the noodles!! We ordered the futsuu (Standard firmness of the noodles) chicken paitan noodles. Flavor, quantity everything is on point!!! Absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend again .. This was at the Westfield Stratford mall.

Very tasty and enjoyable meal. I got the Original Tonkotsu but I wish I got the next level up. Pork was super soft and melt in your mouth. The broth was good but could have been a bit more flavourful

Wahaca Stratford

I’d heard of this chain previously but had allowed myself to be put off by a general distaste for the person who recommended it. Foolish of me. I learn. He was someone who never tipped though, so you can understand the sentiment.

Anyhow, staying in Stratford for a couple of nights and this place was very near my hotel (Hyatt) – I love Mexican food and, from what I could see through the window, it looked very tasty. I thought therefore I’d give it a go.

The interior of the restaurant has a faux industrial/rustic vibe going on, with exposed rebar (I like a bit of exposed rebar) and mismatched seating, some of it sunken in the manner of the 1970s. The restaurant is brightly lit, which is a good thing as there were several steps. The kitchen is semi-open and raised, so you can see the food upon the pass. Nice to see. The only negative for me was a big painting of sweetcorn on the wall – I have a visceral dislike of sweetcorn. This is a personal thing though and shouldn’t put you off visiting. For some reason the sweetcorn is multicoloured and is being visited by a large honeybee, I didn’t understand that.

Service was quick and efficient, and the waiter tried hard to interest us in the special – normally I would have jumped at this as the special was Birria (I love Birria), but it was a sort of sandwich thing and I wasn’t in the mood for bread. I find bread is a mood these days, whereas once upon time I couldn’t get enough of it. Interesting how we change as we age. I ordered a Diet Coke for my drink, as I continue to offer respect to my liver ahead of the festive period.

The menu is interesting, it isn’t divided up in a traditional way – starters, mains etc. You have some small things as like pre-dinner snacks, then some small plates, then some large plates, some sides and some random things that don’t fit anywhere. You can design your meal. I like this, but I know some it would not sit well with. Anyhow, given that choice I thought I’d have a double helping of tacos, because tacos are life. Beef Gringa and buttermilk chicken – these were very different, the beef was saucy and rich, the chicken was fried and crisp, both adorned with loved accoutrement. Impressive tacos, I really enjoyed these and would certainly order them again. Whilst dining, I saw a burrito being eaten at the next table – it was huge – I’m glad I didn’t order that.

I thought I’d break tradition and have a pudding here – this was mainly because they have combined two of my favourites into a single dish with a marriage of tiramisu and a tres leches cake, to create a tres leches tiramisu. Gosh this was rich, delicious, creamy and rich. Beautiful, sweet pudding, I could have had this again and again. Definitely have this if you visit.

Overall, a successful visit and the price was more than reasonable for such tasty food – I would recommend a visit here. Two paws up. Don’t let yourself be put off trying things, give it a go.

Dining in Stratford is a strange experience – I prefer these restaurants that are ‘outside’ of the shopping centre rather than clustered together around it’s internal food market area. Better opportunities for people-watching.

We walked in without a booking and they found us a lovely table away from children (school holidays). The staff are all incredibly friendly and efficient. They had some great deals. We had the feasting menu (pictured), which was probably a little too much for two averaged sized people, it didn’t leave room for a pudding.

The cocktails and mocktails are equally delicious. You don’t miss the alcohol in their cocktails.

Bathrooms have separate male, female and disabled loos, although everyone shares the sinks, ideal if you just want to wash your hands before you eat.

I think Wahaca has gradually become much more of a mainstream chain restaurant and this one is no exception.

I ate here for lunch today in a party of two and the total cost was £65 (no alcohol).

Staff were friendly and food served pretty quickly.

Everything was good apart from the cauliflower bites (greasy / old oil taste). Pork pibil and vegetarian nachos particularly good.

Hibiscus drink and mocktail both really nice.

Visited the place after a long day of walking, me and my friend we were famishing.
After a revamp of their menu the food was still good none the less our server Agnes K. treat us with an exceptional customer service.
Especially in our day where it seems to be dissaperi g slowly. She was, nice, helpful, suggested us options and very calm.

We had a pleasant lunch here on a Saturday. We were served by Paolo who was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the beef and grilled chicken tacos, as well as the prawn small plate. The food was good, although the prawns were a bit small. Dog friendly in the outdoor area. Would come back.

Master Bao - Westfield Stratford City

2nd floor food hall at Westfield shopping centre Stratford. Choice of several restaurants. A friend and I chose the Taiwanese street food place.
I have never previously had Bao's. They were totally delicious. The vegetarian fried rice was a huge portion for one. It was a good thing I was with some hungry girlfriends who helped me polish it off.
If you are not fussy about slumming it with strangers listening to your conversation, and ordering then collecting your food and sitting in a food hall setting, do try this place.

Look out for their offers - 2 Baos, one side and juice for £15!

I got the crispy prawns and the noodle soup. The beef in the noodle soup was really tender but unfortunately the soup was tasteless

EDIT: I decided to try this place again and give the bao a go as it seems to be their main items. Cold fried chicken in a stale bao, and when you pick up the food the staff give you a look like you’re intruding on their private time. Cold service, cold food. Putting this and Taiwanese in the same sentence is a shame

I recently tried the Chicken Dumplings at Master Bao in Westfield Stratford, and they were absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and authentic, with the perfect balance of texture and taste.

What made the experience even better was the outstanding service. John, the manager, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. His warm hospitality truly stood out and made our visit memorable.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and excellent service!

Definitely worth a visit.

Taiwanese cuisine outlet. Have veggie, chicken, prawn options for Bao. The bun was very soft and tasteful. Ordered Chicken and Prawn bao. Crunchy and soft. They have a meal deal. 2 Bao + 1 side and 1 drink (if upgraded). Tried veggie dumplings. Was yummy with dip. Drink was Taiwanese beer (non alcoholic). Bit wierdy taste. Can try at your own risk. The restaurant is located in westgate shopping area in food outlet area. Plenty of sitting options. And lot of other cuisine combo available if going in group. Definitely plenty of paid parking.

Dear Indi-Go Rasoi, if I am going to spend £21.20 on hunters lamb chops and pilau rice, you should be nice enough to not burn my lamb chops.

We all already know that lamb chops doesn’t have as much meat, but over cooking it until it’s burnt and dry (no meat juice) and then serving it is awful, the entire meal tasted bitter because of the burnt ashes on the lamb chops. It was so bad I had to ask for chilli oil from Mrs Chew’s to make the meal taste OKAY!

I can never return to your restaurant to buy anything because this entire experience was awful.

Tried chole bhature here , the curry is burned its overcooked and you can feel it in every bite. Burning smell is so strong But they still served burned curry to customer. Very disappointing, never going to visit again.

Indi-Go Rasoi at Westfield Stratford offers a variety of Indian street food, including dishes like butter chicken, lamb biryani, wraps and various tandoori items. I felt there is a scope for service-related drawbacks. Getting seat for dining will be a challenge especially during peak hours. Was an average dining experience.

I love Indo's street food. Full of flavour. My favourite has to be the Samosa Chaat

Extremely appropriated Indian food. Quantity was alright but there was a general lack of salt and flavour in the paneer wrap. The chutney was sweet too so literally felt like chewing wet sweet bread with paneer and unsalted fries.

From the moment I walked in, I was met with rudeness and a complete lack of care from the staff. The man at the counter couldn’t be bothered to greet or even acknowledge customers properly, it felt like serving people was a burden to him.

When I went to place my order, I was rushed aggressively despite clearly trying to browse the menu. I finally settled on a 1/4 grilled chicken with rice in the hot flavouring — which was displayed as roughly £6 — but when I checked the screen, I saw he was charging me over £11. When I politely pointed this out, I realised he had rung up a whole chicken instead. No apology, just an annoyed grunt as he changed it. Already not a great start.

After paying, I wasn’t told how long the food would take, wasn’t given a number, wasn’t told to wait — nothing. I just stood there confused, hoping I wasn’t forgotten. At least in most takeaways you get some basic communication. After about 10 minutes, I saw a seat open up and sat down.

While walking to my seat, I saw an older lady finally getting her order — but what was strange was that she’d clearly been waiting for a while, and all she received was a hot wings meal straight from the hot holding oven. If the food was just sitting there, what exactly was she waiting for all that time?

Anyway, I ended up waiting a total of over 40 minutes for my order — during my one-hour break. I kept looking at the staff hoping to catch someone’s attention, but they were too busy chatting with their friends behind the counter. Finally, after about 45 minutes, the guy calls me over — only to ask why I took so long!? He never called my number, never shouted my name, nothing. He simply left my food somewhere behind the till and forgot.

The interaction was rude and dismissive, and by then I was just trying to eat quickly before my break ended. But the worst part? The food was awful. I received chips instead of the rice I ordered, and they were cold, soggy, unseasoned, and frankly just sad. No salt included, and the bag only had one tiny ketchup packet. When I politely asked for more, the same rude staff member said, “You only get one” — like I was asking for a gold bar.

The chicken thigh was also cold. The “hot” sauce I requested was nowhere to be found. Instead, it looked and tasted like the lemon and herb one — which had already solidified into a congealed mess on top of the meat. There was no spice, no flavour, just a cold, dry piece of chicken slapped onto the plate like an afterthought.

I didn’t even have time to complain properly because my break was nearly over. So I left, still hungry, still annoyed, and honestly just disappointed that I wasted my money and time here.

There are plenty of better options in the 5 Continents food court nearby — far better service, actual respect for customers, and food that’s edible and served with care. This place? A complete disgrace.
Do yourself a favour and eat literally anywhere else.

I ordered the Smashed beef burger (buy 1 get 1 free) through Ube. The pattie/burger was dry, and it took nearly an hour for the food to be ready.
The only positive was that chips were hot and chrispy.

The sauce on the hot grilled wings was next level flavour! So good. Very friendly staff at this place. It's essentially a stall in a sort of mini food-court. Great atmosphere. I loved it. If I was local, I'd go here every day.

I was waiting for my loaded box for about 40 minutes, and when I went up to the guy in the register he said that he didn't prepare my food yet and might have accidentally given it to someone else, I then had to wait another 10 minutes for the order. So in total, it took them about 50 minutes to prepare my food and give it. Food was good but they made the prices more expensive for less food. My box barely had any fries and the smallest chicken wings in the world. The burger was decent-ish, the best thing about the whole order was the drink that they didn't make (it was the pepsi can drink).

Hardies Peri Peri offers delicious food at a very reasonable price, and the staff provide excellent service with a friendly attitude. Great value for money and a place I’d definitely recommend.
